2025 Summer Grind Series: Lockdown Defensive Camp Location: LHBA South- 639 Gravois Bluffs Blvd H. Fenton, MO 63026 Drop off: 9am Pick up: 3pm Ages: 1st – 8th Description: Defense wins championships, we have all heard that right? Everybody wants to shoot but nobody wants to play defense, yes the game has changed but the defensive mindset and grit has not. This camp is designed to teach our athletes the importance of defense and how to impact the game on the defensive end of the floor. So much of training is designed for offense but basketball is played on both ends of the floor. This camp will be all about defense and the willingness to play defense. We will teach ball defense, help side defense, rotations and angles. We will also focus on communication to become a smart defender, communication on defense is key. Our goal is to get the athletes prepared for the defensive aspect of basketball. Training Focuses: Defensive Positioning: Athletes will be taught on the positions of zone and man defense. Where to properly be positioned in correlation to the basketball. Ex. On Ball Defense, Help Defense and one pass away. Rotations on defense will also be taught amongst our 2v2 or 3v3 segments. Mental Toughness: We will challenge players to prepare their mind and focus on defending the basketball. Willingness to play defense is half the battle. It takes a strong minded athlete to be able to play defense all game. As an athlete, there will be adversity and we must overcome little mistakes to be able to move forward and continue to play. Our staff will help with advice and answer any questions on mental toughness and focus. Competition: Players will be challenged everyday by our Skill Development Coaches and their peers with various defensive drills and intense competition. Defense is intense and we will only teach it that way. As we want all of our athletes to be great on both ends of the floor.
